The 4 P's of a Happy Holiday!

Happy November to you! We are moving quickly to 2006....WOW!

It is a month of Thanksgiving and a great time to be inspired, give thanks, and prepare for a Holiday Season of Purpose!

I wanted to offer four suggestions that can help you as you begin this busy time of year..... the 4 P's of a Happy Holiday!

PURPOSE: What is the purpose of the holiday season for you? Another way to say this is, what is the reason for the season? Be mindful of this. My purpose might be different than yours.

Think about your Purpose when making arrangements. Ask yourself this question daily: What is my purpose? What is the purpose of this?

PLAN: Make a plan, but know that it does not have to be perfect. Think about your time and plan what you want to do. Decide on a spending plan for holiday gift giving. Be prepared for Plan B when the 'perfect plan' does not work out. The best things seem to happen when we let go of our agenda and trust in God's plan for our life.

PRIORITY: What is your priority for this holiday season? How does that relate to your purpose and your plan? Say NO. Set some boundaries so you can do what matters most to you. You might even make a list of your holiday priorities. Again, be mindful of how much time you have available and try not to over schedule.

PEOPLE: Remember that the people in your life are the highest priority. Without them, the holiday season would be so different. This can be your family, your friends, your co-workers, or any people in your life that make you happy! So prepare to show them with your time, that they are a priority for you. Tell them how you feel about them.

As you travel across town or across the United States, have FUN!

Enjoy the moment. Be present. Slow down. Listen. Take a deep breath.

Thank the people that have helped you this year, this month, or the ones that you forgot to thank many years ago! A great 'thank you' from someone that truly means it, is much better than a gift.

So get inspired to be thankful!

With purpose and thanks,
